Not professional advice
Nothing on TechTags constitutes legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. If a document you're processing has legal or compliance significance, consult a qualified professional rather than relying on this site alone.
Tool output isn't guaranteed
Several tools have specific, real limitations, disclosed on their own pages — summarized here for visibility, not to bury them elsewhere:
- Redact PDF covers content with an opaque box. It does not remove the underlying data from the file. Do not use it for content that must be permanently, securely removed.
- Compress PDF strips metadata and rebuilds file structure for real but modest savings — it does not recompress embedded images.
- Repair PDF can only rebuild files that are still readable enough to parse; severely corrupted files may not be recoverable through this tool.
- Unlock PDF removes copy/print restrictions only, and cannot bypass a genuine open-password.
- Sign PDF places a drawn image of your signature on the page — it does not provide the identity verification or audit trail of a certified e-signature service.
For every tool, verify the output meets your actual needs before relying on it, especially for anything with legal, financial, or safety consequences.
